Share the Power!

“I hope you fail miserably,” said my coach, Kendra to our group in Sedona.

SAY WHAT?

It took a minute to sink in… and then it did.

How powerful it is to fail… At everything. Get it out of the way.

So, my wish for you is to fail miserably too.

Just like:

  • Abraham Lincoln failed 7 times at being elected before he won the presidency.
  • Albert Einstein who was sent home from school for being “mentally slow.”
  • Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team.

Here is a whole page of Famous Failures.

Why don’t humans like failure? It doesn’t feel good, and it can cost time and money.

I have watched my middle son do this in his exploration of commercial fishing in Alaska. It isn’t like they say on the show, Deadliest Catch (those guys make more money from TV). YET, my son has the tenacity to stick with it. He has had trips where he worked 7 days a week for months and ended up not being paid… ugh. AND he still went back and tried again. Finally, after almost 4 years, it is starting to pay off! It is hard to watch someone you love going through it, and yet it is often times necessary.

Courage comes from failure – Many never try things that would help them achieve their goals, because they are so afraid of falling. When you try anyway, in spite of the fear of failure, you have shown great courage.

Strength comes from failure – When you don’t get the result you want the first time, you may be frustrated and angry AND eventually more determined to get to your goal. Find that purpose and determination and take it all the way to your goal.

Success comes from failure – It is widely understood that the people who are most successful have also failed the most. Truth! Keep learning all of the ways NOT to do it and success will be yours!

Embrace and rejoice in failure, it is your friend. It allows you to grow and change and find new opportunities.

No matter how frustrating or depressing the failure is, there is always a lesson to be learned and forward moving action to be taken. Failing is part of being human.

Without the pain of failure, there is no motivation to reassess, drop back and try try again.

Fail fast and recover even faster, because every failure is a step in the right direction.

Part of failing forward is owning your own power to catapult you to success. I invite you to my power-packed webinar where I share the 5 Steps to Own Your Power and Find Your Freedom.
