Share the Power!

This has been quite a year to say the least. There have been good things to celebrate like successes with my kids and my business. And of course there have been the not so great, like my cancer diagnosis.

So what do you do when bad things happen? Well, I am still navigating some of these new waters, but here is what I have found so far.

Here are my top 3:

1) Radical self care, whether the crisis is medical, work, emotional or familial.  What does radical self care look like? One of the things that really helped me was time spent alone in the woods, connecting with my deepest self through nature. We live in a world that is so busy, distracted and bombarded with notifications, texts, emails, FB,Instagram and Twitter. It is essential to turn off the noise and go within. Another favorite is long hot baths filled with essential oils and sea salt (where I do my best thinking), also having the support of my coach and time with my inner circle of friends and family.

2) Allowing. I am still working on that one. Allow people to help, give you rides, cook you meals, help you at home. At this time in my life I have no family in Cincinnati, so thank goodness for my friends that are like family. Allowing takes a special skill depending on where you are starting from! One of them even took down a tree that had died over the summer (it was in my feng shui  prosperity corner).

3) Practice good boundaries.  My work is my joy and I still had amazing clients that I kept on coaching, but there are other areas of my business that I had to take a rest from. It actually was a good thing after I settled into it.  In fact I am turning my phone off at a set time during the week and only checking email at specific times. That is a good practice even if you aren’t in crisis mode. Boundaries with those around you are also very important. If they don’t understand, then they don’t have your best interest at heart, the have theirs. I have had a deepening with many friendships and some have actually been allowed to slide away. After all, we are always evolving, changing and moving forward.

We are all in this together, my friends.  Life throws all of us curveballs, unfortunately no one gets off the hook on this one. There are ways to navigate the hard times and hopefully some of these ideas will help.

What are some of the ways that you navigate curveballs in your life and business? I would love to hear from you!

My healing continues and I am close to being back to 100%! I feel a deepening around the work I am committed to doing in this world and that is a good thing.  Someone referred to me as the “Tender Warrior” the other day, I go into the fire with my clients and help them find their way back out.” I’ll own that!

Inner Power, Clarity, Simplicity, Calm Leadership, Authentic Messaging, FUN. THAT is where I am heading and so are my treasured clients.  Want to come along?
